The Batu Caves, Kuala Lumpur

We're Here!!

Well everyone, that's us in Kuala Lumpur, where we've been for the last couple of days.

This place is mad!! We're staying in Chinatown, where the streets are lined with street hawkers selling all sorts of weird food. Round the back of our hotel is the night market, with endless stalls of fake watches, football shirts (some even have toon shirts), handbags and belt buckles. Everyone of the guys running the stall is your 'mate' if you're a westerner and will try to grab you into his stall. One guy even asked if I 'want porno mate?'!!!

First night here there was some heavy downpours with thunder and lightning. We were absolutely drenched just walking down the street and back. However, yesterday and today was scorching, which made it difficult to be outside in the direct sun - especially for a night walker like myself!

So, used the metro and buses to get to the Batu Caves yesterday, which were very cool, especially as they were full on monkeys roaming about trying to steal your food! Today we went to the big commercial city centre and went up the Petronas Towers and ended up in Starbucks for lunch!

Tomorrow morning we fly out to Sabah, in Malaysian Borneo, heading for Kota Kinabalu (KK). We start at 6.30am so it'll be an early night tonight, especially as jet lag is still hanging around, which is a total killer!!

Anyway, will update soon, when we can next get to an internet cafe. Hope everyone is well.
